I’m taking my idea for today’s post from Jules at Pancakes and French Fries. Each Friday (but not today, apparently) she puts together a brief gratitude list of things making her happy this week. It’s rather like the Pop Culture Happy Hour crew’s third show segment, which is àpropos since this week’s episode will undoubtedly be making me happy this evening.
My hair is finally long enough to sling back in a ponytail, just in time for warm weather. I’ve been wearing it thus all week, with great joy.
I read E.B. White’s Here is New York three times this week, and fell in love with this line, among others: “No one should come to New York to live unless he is willing to be lucky.”
I’ve finally come up with a layout for the blog that works equally well on a desktop, iPad, or mobile browser. (If you’re one of the 50% of readers who view out content via RSS, click through and leave a comment to let me know what you think!)
Becca and I were able to arrange an actual phone call with actual catching up for the first time in six months, and had a chat full of laughter and revolution on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, I had a wonderful birthday dinner with Clay, filled with conversation about theater new and old and the woes of teaching. And I’ve decided to sign up for his Song and Dance class in September, so I can get back to singing regularly!
My plans for Saturday include a knitting party with friends whom I haven’t seen in a year, and a dance that’s being called by my wonderful and talented friend Carl.
And on Sunday, my beautiful girl comes home from a week away at Princeton. There will be flowers on the table, a wonderful dinner (if I can decide what to make), and conversation in our apartment for the first time this week.
Happy weekend, all!
